Additional Information

Wilderness Axes

Deep in the Urals Mountains we found a small company of artisans that have honed their passion for their art over the years.

The Axe heads are handcrafted from ШХ15 Bearing steel (52100 equivalent) made in Germany, and quenched resulting in an edge hardness of HRC 58-59

The handles are constructed from local Ash trees impregnated with tung oil. Ash is available all around the world, it is the most common wood used to make handles in European countries. It is the wood choice because it has long fibers that absorb impact shock very well.

The Sheath is Cow hide carefully selected. The leather is impregnated with wax and the final step is a covering of carnauba wax also called Brazil wax and palm wax, its a wax of the leaves of the palm Copernicia prunifera, a plant native to and grown only in the northeastern Brazilian states. It is known as "queen of waxes"
